Dec 18, 2012·I am soap making newbie and would appreciate some advice on the following.. I tried a new recipe with the following: Olive oil 38%, coconut oil 28%, castor oil 6%, palm oil 28%, lye 1.7 oz, water 3.9 oz which yielded 17 oz of soap. I mixed oils and lye at 110 F.
